Veerle Verbert
From WordPress hacker in 2006 to respectfully building sites & apps with WordPress and loving the community and it’s force.
I work as a web freelancer for Con Impeto (conimpeto.be) for a living, doing mostly custom WordPress development, I never update avatars and I try to give back to the community by helping as much as I can & co-organising the monthly WordPress Meetup Antwerp since 2014 and some Antwerp WordCamps.
And now it’s time for a third WordCamp in Antwerp. Yay!

In my web development adventures, I try to use the right tool for the right job. Turns out WordPress is like a swiss pocket knife for a lot of use cases.
A few years ago, I discovered the Belgian WordPress community. It didn’t take long before the warm and enthusiastic atmosphere had me sold. Recently, I decided to get involved to try and bring that same feeling to others as well.
I’m thrilled to support WordCamp Antwerp as best as I can, mainly focusing on all things technical and the website.

After testing lots of CMS’s over the years, we had the best experience with WordPress. Since that day, all our websites are made in it. Our team AppSaloon (appsaloon.be) of 13 creates great WordPress websites and plugins.
To achieve this, we received a lot of feedback/input/… from the community and it’s time to give back to it. I am co-organising the meetup in Hasselt and helping with some translations
In 2020 I’ll be one of the co-organisers of the third WordCamp in Antwerp!
Looking forward to meet you. 🙂 -

I started out making flat-file websites back in the days when iframes and tables were seen as best practice. When I started out looking for content management systems, I fell in love with WordPress. A few years later I decided to do this professionally and founded JerrixIT where my focus is to build, maintain, host and optimize WordPress sites.
Back in 2016, I visited my first WordCamp, WordCamp Antwerp 2016. Ever since I visit as much WordCamps in and close to Belgium. I also started a meetup group in Ypres, my hometown and try to attend other meetups as well in Ghent, Antwerp & Hasselt.

I’m bipolar when it comes to designing and programming WordPress websites, themes, and plugins. You could call me a WordPress maniac and I’m proud of it.
